Description
Small round glass leech jars. Bowl-shaped with flat base. Distinctive wide lip atop short neck. Plain glass jars of this size would have been offered by a dispensary or druggist to carry a leech or two for personal use — common of a well-supplied home until the mid-19th century. Likely American, as European jars were usually footed.
